LEPROSSY MISSION:

We Adopt a  Leprosy Colony..The leprosy eradication is undertaking by the Jesus Witness Ministries, in the view of the we condition and suffering of the lepers. These lepers are driven and rejected out of their homes and these lepers are hold together in a colony. In this colony, the lepers are given a place but do not have the basic necessity of living. Especially during the winter, these lepers suffered a lot; and some of the persons often die due to cold and some kind of sickness, they do not have sufficient cloths moreover which they are living that is not clean due to mosquitoes and stinking. At the same time, they do not have food to eat; as a result they go out begging for food, nearby villages. Some time they do not get food to eat because they are rejected by the villagers, by seeing their sores and wounds marks. To control this, JWM established a Mission station within the colony to help the lepers, to clean their wounds and sores and counsel them, provide medicine help, but this is not possible due to crush of fund. [Mt 8:1-4]

Geographical of Thanugula:

Telugu is the Local Language here. Total population of Thanugula is 3938. Males are 1972 and Females are 1,966 living in 1016 Houses. Total area of Thanugula is 1734 hectares. Thanugula village is one part of the colony that is called Parimala Society (or) Leprosy colony. That colony is 2 KMS far way from Thanugula. This was the established by state Governor of Andhra Pradesh; Honorable chief of Kumari Kumudhben Joshi, she was the greatest concern about that people, during at that time Huzurabad constitution of MLA “KethiriSai reddy”. Also concern that people they together took the decision and made one colony in that colony government sanctioned quarters in 1985 at that time 57 houses were constructed by the government. Now that houses are broken and out of 20 houses are collapsed due to that houses not that much strong why because of during the construction they were not used original material.

Around the 100 KMS, if anybody has found lepers in the village, in those village persons not allows to live together. So they give information to the government officials, and found them, kept one place that is called leprosy colony, it is the government work, in that place totally 83 Members are living as a family, it means wife and husband, and some couple has got leprosy both husband and wife, and some wife and husband like wise they have leprosy, and but their children did not have any leprosy and that whole families are living together and have children. Here there is no school, and some good persons are able to working in the field and those who are having leprosy that persons go to an out side and begging for survival. Government gives them only per month RS 500/- per one person who is not having leprosy and rest of an old age are getting for a month only RS 200/- for the survival this is not enough, so If they want go for out side work some they do not have fingers how they to do work? Those who are having leprosy while eating the food also very difficult to eat in that area their also some body has to help them. This is the condition of the Leprosy colony.

This is real a challenge...... let us thinks.........
If, you seriously thinking to contribute something back to the society or communities, you can consider adopting a village for some specific duration. We are promoting a new innovative scheme of ‘adopt a village scheme’ to facilitate positive impacts among Leprosy community. By through this, we are going to give some hope, and how they will think? And how they will respond towards us.
